Snorkeling Adventure... Take Two

Well, the excursion GODS were smiling upon me yesterday (or at least took pity on me) and allowed me to switch the tour from the 25th to the 26th for FREE (even though the paper read- NO refunds or changes to booking will be allowed)!! As I had mentioned in an earlier post, it was MY bad for missing the day however, there was NO communication from the company confirming the pick-up time/location nor any reminders of the tour as the other 7 tours had done. I had my doubts about the tour as we had not received any correspondence from them. In any case, they allowed to go!

Today, we were picked up at our hotel in Nha Trang and we headed over to the local pier. The pier was teeming with activity! Tons of boats and people. People waiting on boats and boats impatiently waiting on their passengers. We sat for a long while in one staging area and were then moved to an area right by the water to wait for our boat to arrive. As it had taken a super long time, we were given a speed boat to take to our larger snorkeling ship.

We raced out of the harbor and quickly met up with our larger vessel. Then, we headed to Mun Island. We were given the opportunity to snorkel off the coast of the island however, were told NOT to go on the rocks or stand on the coral. We listened; others.... not so much. They got yelled at. In any case, we snorkeled for a short while and then the boat pulled up to another location of Mun island. We did some more snorkeling until it was time for lunch.

Lunch was served in the center of the boat with everyone getting his or her own plate of noodles and we had the chance to try the other dishes. The squid curls were delicious!!

Next the boat stopped off the coast of Mot Island and allowed us to hop off and snorkel some more. The water was very shallow here and I saw several jellyfish which made me super nervous and there were TONS of snorkelers in one tiny spot-- also made be very anxious. So, we quickly looked around and headed back to the boat.

The boat returned us to the dock, we caught our ride back to the hotel, and that concluded our successful snorkeling tour of Vietnam.
