The second part of the water buffalo tour entailed riding a basket or coconut boat. We were in the water about 40 minutes and were entertained as we traveled down the river.
Mid-way through, there were performers who would 'dance' with the boats by spinning them wildly to loud music.
One of the performers asked Iyla to join him on his basket boat and when a strange man asks your daughter to join him aboard his coconut boat in a foreign land... the answer for some reason the answer was... YES! Iyla had the best time spinning around wildly with this character. What a memorable experience!!
The boats stopped at a local restaurant and we were served some delicious spring rolls, VN pancakes, and a few other dishes. The food was incredible and the tea they served was incredibly refreshing!
The tour also included hand-made creations that were put together using palm fronds. The three of us received grasshopper rings made by the man who rowed our basket boat. Very neat!!

Wow...coconut boats are very cool!
ReplyDeleteThe spinning one must have felt like a carnival ride to Iyla...glad she enjoyed!!
The day had so many facets...and you can’t argue about receiving a special grasshopper ring!
Keep these adventures coming....so much fun to read about/“see” them!
