Saturday Night in DaNang

This evening we had planned to go to the beach and have dinner at a seafood restaurant where you could pick your own dinner from the tanks. Unfortunately, it looked like it was going to storm as the wind picked up and there were several bolts of lightning.

Instead, we walked to nearby Nonna Betty's Italian restaurant. We had homemade paninis, pasta, and lasagna. It was tasty and really charming. Less than $20 later, we were on our way.

 Funny face, Iyla!!

The weather seemed to be just fine and so we headed to the night market. Son Tra market was really an experience. They sold souvenirs, jewelry, all sorts of handicrafts, knock-off shoes and purses, food, toys, clothes, and even pets!! Mice and turtles were available for purchase. We bought a lantern and Iyla found a Jade bracelet that she loves!!

Soon, it was time to go to the dragon bridge to watch the famous fire and water show. The show happens at 9pm every Saturday and Sunday evening. We found a spot with a good vantage of the dragon's mouth.

The park was all lit up and there were tons of people all over the bridge and park to witness the show.

At 9pm, the show began and we watched as the dragon breathed fire and later water. It was really amazing and the crowd enjoyed every minute. Not sure the people on the bridge enjoyed being doused by the high-powered stream of water as some people even opened umbrellas!! It was an amazing sight to behold and we were definitely glad that the weather cooperated!!

  2. The market was a trip. Never done a night market. True sensory overload!! They had rides, games, things to buy, foods. Some that smelled like they were pulled out of the Great Miami river and traveled unrefrigerated all the way here.RIPE! The show was amazing!! And I could not get over Nonna Betty's restaurant!! Loved it!! Love you!!😍
